The Colombian basketball team achieved a historic victory by defeating Brazilin the third window of the 2023 Fiba Basketball World Cup qualifier
Colombia won by a score of 104-98, in a match that had two overtimes, played this Sunday night at the Elías Chegwin Coliseum in Barranquilla.
Juan Tello scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Colombians, Braian Angola contributed 20 points and Andrés Ibarguen, 17.
Uruguay, in turn, won 75-65 over Chile. Brazil (5-1), Uruguay (4-2) and Colombia (2-4) move on in this bracket, while Chile (1-5) is eliminated.
This trio will be measured in the second round with the three teams that make it out of Group D, the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico, who left Cuba out, still with one day pending, on Monday.
The Basketball World Cup will be played in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
