Colombian arrested in Morocco after landing with a plane

The Moroccan police arrested this Saturday a Colombian citizen in Tangier, in the north of Moroccoafter spending twelve days in hiding after making a forced landing near that town with a plane that supposedly was transporting drugs.

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated in a statement that the 41-year-old man was arrested in the medina of Tangier for his alleged links with a “international criminal network active in drug trafficking by air”.

The note adds that the Colombian citizen participated in the piloting of a small plane that was found on September 20 on the outskirts of Tangier, and that, allegedly, was used in the tinternational drug trafficking.

It also explains that a judicial investigation was opened with the detained man, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office, in order to reveal his possible links with international drug trafficking networks.

The investigation also aims, according to the statement, to identify all the accomplices and participants in this criminal activity, whether inside or outside Morocco, as well as know all the routes usedincluding aerial ones.
