The Colombia Women’s National Team beat 2-0 to Costa Rica, in the second friendly commitment of the FIFA date of the month of September, this Tuesday, at the Pascual Guerrero stadium.
Nelson Abadía, the team’s coach, continues to see the alternatives he has, to consolidate the preparation for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, for which he qualified thanks to the runner-up position in the Copa América.

The match began with the Colombians intent on attack, who in the first minute of the game created a clear option for the center of the field between Catalina Usme, Mayra Ramírez and Linda Caicedo, in which the forward from Cali reached the rival area, He finished off, but went above the horizontal.
Colombia created two more chances: the first with a pass between the lines from Lorena Bedoya to Linda Caicedo, who finished off alone against the rival goalkeeper and the Costa Rican, Dinnia Díaz, sent her to the corner. In that corner kick, Usme charged into the heart of the area, Jorelyn Carabalí finished off with a header and the goalkeeper once again saved her team.
Colombia kept trying, but the first goal still didn’t come; until at minute 37, they played long in the left sector, Mayra received, won the position and enabled Catherine Usme, that he only had to cross it to score 1-0.
Then Costa Rica reacted and tied with a cross from Melissa Herrera and a header from Michelle Montero, but goalkeeper Katherine Tapia was able to stop the clear option, with which minutes later the first half would end.
For the complementary part, coach Nelson Abadía made the first change, Ivonne Chacón came in for Diana Ospina. For that second stage, the game at times was more even, but Colombia wanted to finalize the second, where they had several opportunities with Chacón, Usme and Linda.
After that action, Chacón received a ball from the far left, advanced to the corner kick flag, crossed into the area and Linda, with first intention, completed the second of the night. Later more changes arrived, in the premises Lady Andrade entered by Mayra; María Coto and Alexandra González entered the visit for Gabriela Guillén y Montero.
In the final moments, Colombia proceeded with the game and made the last changes, Manuela Pavi and Liced Serna entered the field for Linda and Montoya, with whom the match ended with a 2-0 win.
