In 400 meters, the locals won the gold medal with Evelis Aguilar by stopping the clock in 51 seconds 84 hundredths to beat the Chilean Martina Weil Restrepo (52.64) and the Ecuadorian Nicole Dayci Caicedo (54.36), who were silver and bronze, respectively.
The Colombian delegation also celebrated with the gold achieved in the 4×100 meter relay event, in women, with a time of 44.52, while Chile was second with 44.57, a record that represented a national record, and Ecuador third with 45.55.

“I felt pressure because my teammates put their trust in me to finish off. We gave everything until the end, we ran well and made a good mark,” athlete Laura Martínez, from the Colombian team, told reporters.
