Genoa – After a year off, National Food Collection Day is back on Saturday 27 November, where it will be possible to buy and donate food for people in difficulty.
The National Food Collection Day, promoted by the Banco Alimentare Foundation, turns 25 and is back in attendance: this year, in the supermarkets participating in the initiative, it will be possible to physically buy again non-perishable foods to be donated to the 381 affiliated charitable structures with the Food Bank (canteens for the poor, communities for minors or reception centers).
In Liguria they are involved as well 5 thousand volunteers distributed among 400 supermarkets. The invitation is to buy long-life products such as baby food, tuna, canned meat, oil, legumes, peeled tomatoes or pasta.
A small gesture that can make a difference, also because after the pandemic the number of families asking for help has drastically increased.
To find the stores participating in the initiative is enough consult the website of the Food Collection.
