Dr. Najwa Al Hosani, Acting Dean of the College of Education at the UAE University, confirmed that the postgraduate programs – doctoral and master’s studies, launched by the College of Education at the UAE University, are witnessing a large turnout of students to meet the needs of the labor market and educational institutions of cadres and competencies with high academic specialization. The number of students enrolled in graduate programs is 203 for the academic year 2020-2021, 63 male and female students in doctoral programs, and 140 male and female students in master’s programs representing 25 nationalities.
She added: The college is currently developing international cooperation and partnership plans with a number of master’s programs offered at prestigious international universities in Hong Kong, the United States of America and Finland, with the aim of exchanging experiences and upgrading master’s programs, which qualifies students not only in academic theory but also in practice. the operation.
Dr. Hassan Terab, coordinator of the doctoral program at the college, indicated that the number of programs currently offered is 5: a doctorate in curricula and teaching methods, a doctorate in the methods of teaching sciences, a doctorate in special education, a doctorate in educational leadership, and a doctorate in languages. The number of students enrolled in doctoral programs is 63, most of whom are in the educational leadership program. He added: The college organizes one registration session during the academic year, starting in September, while interviews are held in March and April. The program takes 6 semesters for a full-time student, and 6-10 semesters for a part-time student. Students enroll in doctoral programs through full or partial scholarships from the university, which include specific criteria for admission based on the competitiveness and academic levels of students. To ensure continuity in these scholarships, the student must maintain an outstanding academic level.
Dr. Ali Shehadeh, coordinator of the master’s program, indicated that the college offers master’s programs in three main disciplines: curricula and teaching methods, educational leadership, and special education, in addition to 5 sub-tracks in the specialization of curricula and teaching methods: English, Arabic, and mathematics. Science and Social Studies. The programs aim to build a solid scientific base for learners through which they can apply advanced skills and experiences in the educational field, design a learning environment in which learners are an important focus of educational practices, reflect on professional practices and their impact on learners, and be able to produce educational research (quantitative and qualitative) that contribute In improving and developing the educational process, in addition to taking leadership roles to build an effective partnership with bodies, ministries and research centers.
