Colin Powell, the first African American secretary of state died of Covid complications
The former secretary of state Colin Powell died at the age of 84 years old for complications related to Covid. The announcement comes directly from the family who in a post on Facebook writes: “General Powell, former secretary of state and head of the United Staff, died this morning due to complications related to Covid. We have lost an extraordinary and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American.” The general had completed the vaccination course. He was appointed secretary of state by George Bush in 2001, becoming the first head of African-American American diplomacy.
