Yucatan.- The Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece) fined a company and three individuals with 3.4 million pesos for manipulating the public sale price of marine diesel at service stations in Dzilam de Bravo, Yucatán.
The regulatory body stated that price manipulation, carried out by the company Combustibles Puerto de Abrigo Dzilam de Bravo and the individuals involved, directly affected consumers of marine diesel for a period of almost four years.
Marine diesel is a type of fuel used in boats and other vessels, and is sold at service stations near the coast or river mouths.
This fuel is very important for moving goods and products both within and outside the country, and is also relevant for tourism in coastal areas.
“Cofece, as part of the new phase of economic competition policy, maintains its commitment to analyze and investigate with special emphasis those sectors whose goods and services have a greater impact on the well-being of consumers, such as the transportation sector. and logistics,” the Commission noted.
Once the matter has been resolved and the parties have been notified, the sanctioned company and individuals have the right to go to the Judicial Branch of the Federation to review the legality of the Commission’s actions.
