From the employers of the Campo de Cartagena region, a convoy is being organized for the Polish-Ukrainian border, with the aim of carrying essential materials and bringing 42 refugees to Cartagena. The departure, which will take place next Tuesday, March 15 from the port city, is made up of seven vehicles of different formats and capacity for 51 seats in total, between drivers and passengers.
A road trip that lasts 30 hours, with 3,109 km, and whose one-way destination is the border cities of Korczowa, Przmysl and Medyza. The cost of the trip whose purpose is to help bring 42 refugees and bring essential products is 22,000 euros, considering the rental of the vehicles (some of them are provided free of charge by the owners), gasoline, tolls as well as accommodation and maintenance of the refugees on the return trip.
In the words of Ana Correa, president of COEC, “from COEC we make an urgent appeal to the entire population, not only from the Campo de Cartagena region but from the entire Region of Murcia”. “We ask, adds Correa, the economic collaboration of all – businessmen and citizens in general – to be able to carry out this humanitarian trip, in support of the Ukrainian population, so affected by this terrible genocide of Putin, which is devastating Ukraine. Any contribution is good, no matter how small, to get the convoy to leave Cartagena for the border countries.”
