In spring 2021 software developer Katri Vilonen happened to chat with an old colleague. A colleague had changed jobs and his salary had increased significantly.
A colleague suggested trying the salary calculator of his new employer, which was found on the company’s website. Vilonen entered his hourly rate into the calculator.
A couple of months later, he too had changed jobs.
