Industry demand for the period between 2025 and 2027 will require the qualification of 14 million professionals, including those entering the job market and those already working, according to the Industrial Work Map. The document, prepared by the National Industry Observatory (ONI) of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), was released this Friday, 11th, and seeks to contribute to the development of these professionals, offering training in the areas that are most demanded by the sector.
“We estimate the need to qualify 14 million workers in occupations within the industry and in related occupations”, says Anaely Machado, labor market specialist at ONI and responsible for preparing the study.
Machado assesses that the Brazilian post-pandemic economic context is one of continuous growth, although not as high, with consequences to be gleaned from structural reforms, such as taxes, and a job market in constant transformation. The projections take into account an average GDP growth of 1.91% in this period between 2025 and 2027, while the industry advances a little more, on average a growth of 1.93%.
The entity’s projection includes the need to train 2.2 million new professionals and requalify 11.8 million who are already on the market. Between 2025 and 2027, the expectation is to generate 610 thousand new vacancies in industry and related occupations, in addition to the turnover with the replacement of workers who will leave the formal job market. “This entire scenario, also considering the processes of innovation and transformation of the labor market and the productive sector, will increasingly demand that workers improve and retrain constantly throughout their career”, he says.
The Industrial Labor Map indicates that the demand for new professionals will be greater in the areas of logistics and transport (474.6 thousand vacancies), construction (364 thousand vacancies) and industrial operations (181 thousand vacancies). “The area of logistics and transport is very important. This area grew significantly after the pandemic, due to the need to link the production chain. From the moment we have much more technologically integrated, much more complex production chains and a more relevant international insertion, this means that this professional is in great demand, both within the industry and outside”, he points out.
With mapping, the sector hopes to better guide investment in workforce qualification, including courses offered by the National Industrial Learning Service (Senai).
