In September of last year, an extensive list of games that would come to GeForce Now, NVIDIA’s cloud service, was leaked. Although the existence of the content shown here was denied at the time, the passage of time has gradually confirmed some of the announcements that were present in the information that emerged ahead of time. Thus, the recent revelation of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition, would point to the rumored remake of Final Fantasy IX I would be on my way.
In the leaked GeForce Now list, mention was made of projects such as God of War for PC, the remaster of Chrono Crossand an unannounced card game, which could well refer to Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden, which were denied at the time, but today are a reality. Thus, it is speculated that the remake of Final Fantasy IXas well as a remastering of Final Fantasy Tactics, become a reality in the future.
This was what Jason Schreier, a journalist from Bloomberg, commented on it:
“The fact that the Chrono Cross remaster is real means that according to the Nvidia leak, a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster and Final Fantasy IX remake are also on the way.”
The Chrono Cross remaster being real means that, per the Nvidia leak, a Final Fantasy Tactics remaster and Final Fantasy IX remake are also on the way 👀

But nevertheless, nothing ensures that the remake of Final Fantasy IXor another of the titles mentioned in the leak become a reality. Although some, like Mortal Kombat 12they seem to be nowhere near being revealed, there are cases like that of Kingdom Hearts 4 or Shin Megami Tensei V for PC, which could just as well have been a bug.
Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition Coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 7, and here you can learn more about this title. Similarly, Live A Live will receive an HD-2D remake.
Editor’s Note:
Although I would love to see a remake of Final Fantasy IX, I can’t get excited about something that, while not impossible, would still be many years away. Considering that an HD version is already available on current consoles, Square Enix must offer something completely new, and this is not an easy job, especially all the projects that they have in the pipeline.
