The goal of the Finance Coalition of Finance Ministers is to bring climate issues into economic policy decision-making.
The Treasury minister Annika Saarikko attended a climate coalition ministerial meeting in Scotland on Wednesday. The meeting was held in conjunction with the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.
Saarikko serves as one of the chairmen of the climate coalition. Founded two years ago, the climate coalition includes 65 countries. Ministers from more than 20 countries will take part in the meeting in Scotland.
The goal of the Climate Coalition of Finance Ministers is to involve climate issues in economic policy decision-making.
The topics of the meeting have included carbon pricing, the effects of climate change on public finances and economic policy instruments, and the development of the financial system.
