For almost two weeks there has been no trace of little Cleo from Australia, the girl disappeared on family vacation. Investigators are pursuing an eerie theory and are looking for a car.
Update from October 30, 2021: The disappearance of Cleo (4) continues to puzzle the Australian police. According to their own statements, the investigators used drones and airplanes to search for the four-year-old girl again this Saturday (October 30) – unfortunately without success. Several huts at the campsite along the coast were also searched.
The disappearance of little Cleo moves the country. The government of the state of Western Australia has now offered a reward of 1 million Australian dollars (about 650,000 euros) for tips on how to find the girl.
Who saw Cleo (4)? Mysterious vehicle in the focus of the investigators
Cleo (4) was last seen in a tent at the Blowholes campsite in Macleod on Saturday (October 16) at around 1:30 a.m. The girl slept in her sleeping bag and was wearing one-piece pink / purple pajamas with a blue and yellow pattern. Cleo had previously woken her mother Ellie to drink some water. At 6:30 a.m. Ellie woke up – then her daughter was gone. The police are trying to reconstruct what happened in the tent at the campsite that night.
Was Cleo dragged out of the tent? Between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, a vehicle was seen at Blowholes Road junction turning south to north onto the West Coast Motorway. The car left the campsite during the night. Anyone who saw the vehicle should contact the police. Every hint is important, according to a press release. In addition, the investigators ask for material from surveillance cameras or dashcams within a radius of 1000 kilometers from the campsite. Even after video material in the period from Friday (October 15) from 6 p.m. to Sunday (October 17) 6 p.m. is in the interests of the investigators. Local media had previously reported on it (see first report).
Cleo (4) disappeared on family vacation: Investigators test eerie theory
First report from October 25, 2021: Carnarvon / Australia – The small one still applies Cleo Smith from Australia as missing, investigators, numerous police officers and the girl’s family have been looking for her for over a week. The four-year-old had been on vacation with her family at a campsite. While her parents and her little sister slept in the tent, little Cleo must have disappeared unnoticed. Now investigators are testing an eerie theory: was the little girl the victim of a stalker?
Cleo (4) disappeared on family vacation: Investigators test eerie theory
Although all of Australia has been searching for the missing little girl for more than a week, the fate of little Cleo still remains unresolved. Investigators suspect that the four-year-old must have been kidnapped from her family’s tent. The zipper of the tent was too high for the girl, so investigators rule out a voluntary disappearance at night. Also: the girl’s sleeping bag has also disappeared.
Since the girl disappeared on the night of October 16, investigators are already preparing for the worst. Can little Cleo really only be recovered dead? Like RTL with reference to the Australian portal WA Today reports, investigators are now even considering the theory that the girl and her family may have previously been watched by a stalker. For this reason, the family’s house was examined, and the garden fence was also examined for fingerprints, for example.

Investigators are also hoping for new clues from passers-by and residents within a 1,000-kilometer radius. Like RTL, citing the WA Today reports, investigators are said to want to view surveillance cameras in this radius. Car dashcams and private recordings should also be viewed by citizens and reported in the event of questionable observations.
But that is not the only lead that investigators are currently following. As Australian media unanimously report, witnesses are said to have seen a car with screeching tires near the campground that night. It remains unclear whether the sighting of the car is related to the disappearance of little Cleo.
