The Mexican press highlights that, without a doubt, the career of the young actress claudia martin has taken off thanks to the new remake of “The rich also cry”, the remembered Mexican soap opera that marked history and that in 1979 starred Verónica Castro, Rogelio Guerra and Rocío Banquells. It is broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas and in the United States on Univisión.
What challenges do you face being part of one of the most important roles in a classic soap opera?
There have been several. The fact of creating a fresh version, a current version, since the other versions were made many years ago. I wasn’t born in one, they wouldn’t let me watch soap operas in another, so imagine. It is from the beginning to create fresh papers, it is a renewed story that is super well written, super well adapted. Of course it is a lot of responsibility. The name is already heavy, but I think that has also given me the security and confidence that I have a team that shelters me wonderfully. They are all talented. I think that knowing I am sheltered by so many people who have many years of experience, for me it is an act of trust.

Are you prepared to be under the scrutiny not only of the critics but also of the fans of said genre?
Well look, I don’t know if I’m ready or not, I think that being a public figure, anything you can do can be used against you. I just know that people who don’t like my work can come and it will also be very valid. I’m not some gold coin to have to be liked or liked by everyone. I think that I am aware of that, and finally everything will always be to learn and grow, and I think that I always prefer to continue staying with the good of the people who support my work and are there telling me nice things and nice and positive phrases to keep the negative comments, because if we base ourselves on defining who we are on the comments of others, we would all be very sunk.
Will you talk to Veronica Castro, perhaps? Would you ask him for advice?
Well, no, I have not had the pleasure or pleasure of talking with Verónica Castro. She simply put a very nice tweet on her social network saying that congratulations, that she wished us the best, how beautiful and talented. I think that with a little message that gives us a good vibe to the entire production, it was more than I could hope for. She made me a nice gesture on her part, and well, I will always admire her, I already admired her before and now much more.

What do you say to those who have pointed out that you are not up to the task of bringing an iconic character like her to life?
Your comment is valid. Actually, whoever points that out… it’s his perception and that’s it, right? The only thing I can do is give my best, give my best version of this character, Mariana Villarreal, and well, whoever likes it, I will be incredibly grateful and if they don’t like it, well, there are many options for see right? In the end, the joke is that they enjoy it. I am enjoying my work to the last and there is an audience that has been liking it and I am happy with those people.
