Claudia López says that Petro confirmed that there will be a Women’s League

The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, said, this Tuesday, that President Gustavo Petro and the Ministry of Sports confirmed the realization of the Women’s League.

“I very much celebrate the decision and the announcement of the president, Gustavo Petro, and from the Minister of Sports that there will finally be a Women’s League,” said López.

And he added: “It is necessary to add territorial resources from the municipal governments, we will do itbut not to save you the investment that professional men’s soccer teams must make.”

López, in an act that served as a tribute to the players of the Colombian Senior Team in the Bogota Councilwent further and proposed a formula for the Women’s League.

“The best incentive, and I propose it to the national government, is that whoever wants to participate in the men’s Soccer League must have a team in the women’s,” he said.
