Claudia Llosa has presented a preview of her movie for Netflix Rescue distance. The director comes to streaming as the first Peruvian to direct a film for the brand.
The film, based on the acclaimed novel by Samanta Schweblin, stars Maria Valverde, Dolores Fonzi, Germán Palacios, Guillermo Pfening, Emilio Vodanovich, Guillermina Sorribes, Marcelo Michinaux and Cristina Banegas.
In Rescue Distance, Llosa, who co-wrote the script with Schweblin, presents us with a unique and hypnotic tale about the fears and power of a mother’s love. Set in a quiet community in Argentina, the film involves the fears that surround motherhood. The protagonists are named Amanda (María Valverde) and Carola (Dolores Fonzi).

Before its premiere on Netflix, the film will have a worldwide release at the San Sebastian International Film Festival in September, where it is part of the official section.
Furthermore, within the framework of 25 Lima Film Festival PUCP, Llosa and Schweblin will be part of a discussion on the creative process and film adaptation. The appointment is this Thursday 26 through the festival’s Facebook account at 8.00 pm
