A hobby that prompted its owner to acquire the rarest and most ancient brands, some of which were made in the thirties of the last century, and the other was part of a handicraft that Ahmed Al-Huwaidi loved for its details, the owner of classic cars who started collecting these cars more than three decades ago.
Ahmed Al-Huwaidi says that his story with the acquisition of old cars began with him when he was a high school student. He pointed out that most of the cars he obtained were of American and Japanese manufacture.
With the passage of time, this hobby became a source of income for Ahmed, who confirms that the classic car market in the region is witnessing growth that brings with it investment opportunities.
Al-Huwaidi added, as he wanders among his classic possessions, to “Sky News Arabia” that the hobby of collecting old cars has begun in recent years to spread among Gulf youth, especially Saudis.
The classic car enthusiast explained that the Riyadh and Jeddah season, and the rest of the seasons that the Kingdom witnesses from time to time, gave impetus to this hobby and turned it into an investment that provides income with pleasure for the owners of these cars.
Specialists say that the exact manufacturing details of these vehicles and their type determine their price category, stressing that the driving pleasure in this vehicle may be comparable to any modern vehicle.
Each of these cars tells the story of its owner, how he acquired it and the features he liked in it, stories that Ahmed and his fellow car enthusiasts turned into a hobby and investment that would benefit them.
