After the double in Misano, Michele Pirro confirmed himself as dominator of the Italian Speed Championship also in Vallelunga. The multiple champion won both races and now flies 40 points ahead of Samuele Cavalieri in the standings, second overall.
Superbikes
Saturday – Three out of three for Michele Pirro. Ducati rider Barni Spark achieved victory in race 1 at Vallelunga, thus achieving his third success in a row in the Dunlop CIV. But what an effort. The race, interrupted by a red flag due to the fall of Alberto Butti (Ducati Barni Spark), was restarted over a distance of nine laps. A sort of Sprint Race, which provided excitement and entertainment. Roberto Mercandelli (Ducati Broncos) was in the lead until the penultimate lap, trying until the end to take home a resounding success, only to then have to surrender to the multiple Italian champion. In fact, Pirro followed Mercandelli for all nine laps, overtaking him on the penultimate lap. Place of honor for Mercandelli, who thus achieved his second podium of the season. An excellent result for a rider making his first Superbike races. Behind the two Ducatisti it was a battle until the photo finish for the third step of the podium, which went to Alessandro Delbianco (Yamaha DMR), who did well to get the better of Luca Bernardi (Aprilia Nuova M2). In the standings Pirro has full points with 74 points. ahead of Delbianco with 45 points. and Samuele Cavalieri (Aprilia Nuova M2, 5th in the race) with 44 points.
Sunday – Poker from the multiple Italian champion. Michele Pirro (Ducati Barni Spark) also achieved full spoils in Vallelunga, going on to win race 2 and thus scoring a splendid one-two in the Corriere dello Sport Round. There was no story on the track, with the Ducati tester getting off to a good start and leading solo, taking first position with a 4 second lead over his pursuers. Behind him, a double for the Aprilia Nuova M2, with Luca Bernardi second and Samuele Cavalieri third. Fourth place for the debutant in the category Roberto Mercandelli (Ducati Broncos). Only eighth was Alessandro Delbianco (Yamaha DMR), victim of a fall on the ninth lap, following which he still managed to restart and close the race. In the general classification Pirro is leader with 100 points. ahead of Cavalieri with 60 points. and Delbianco with 53 points.
SS600 NG
Saturday – “Worldwide” touch for the Dunlop CIV 600. The winner, his first success of the season, was Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Yamaha Altogo). The 2019 Moto3 World Champion, starting from pole, went on to triumph with a margin of over four seconds over his pursuers. Behind him there was a tussle for the remaining top positions. The winner for the second step of the podium was Luca Ottaviani (MV Agusta Extreme), who did well to overtake Andrea Giombini. However, the Roman, on a Ducati Broncos, consoled himself with the championship lead. Fourth final position for Stefano Valtulini (Yamaha Promodriver Organization) with Davide Stirpe (Ducati at Garage 51 Barni by dto) fifth. In the general classification Giombini is at the top with 49 points. ahead of Stirpe with 47 points. and Ottaviani with 45 p.
Sunday – Race full of emotions in the 600, with a thrilling finale. On the track it was a battle between Davide Stirpe, Luca Ottaviani and Alessandro Sciarretta for the victory, in a tussle from times gone by. Success ultimately went to Stirpe. The Ducati Garage 51 Barni by dto standard-bearer thus returned to occupy the first step of the podium. A victory with a special flavor for him, a Roman, and for his fans. Embellished by Championship leadership. Second place for Alessandro Sciarretta (Ducati ZPM Motorsport Racing), first podium for him in the category. Third place for Luca Ottaviani. The MV Agusta Extreme Racing standard-bearer had passed under the checkered flag in first position, only to be penalized for track limit. In the general classification Stirpe is leader with 72 points. ahead of Ottaviani with 61 points. and Giombini (out due to a slip) at 49 p.
Moto3
Saturday – Hat-trick for Marcos Ruda. The 2WheelsPoliTo GP Project Racing Team rider achieved his third success in a row at the Dunlop CIV, going on to win with over 11 seconds ahead of his pursuers. Bad luck for Elia Bartolini (Lucky Racing), forced to retire due to a technical problem. Behind Ruda, adrenaline and spectacle for second and third place. The battle only ended in a photo finish, with Cristian Lolli (BeOn Cecchini) doing well to overtake his opponents in Roma. Third place for Erik Michielon (BeOn We Race-SM Pos Corse), with Edoardo Liguori (BeOn AC Racing), and Emanuele Andrenacci (BeOn We Race-SM Pos Corse) following, very close to Lolli and Michielon. In the general classification Ruda is leader with full points with 75 points. ahead of Lolli with 52 points. and Bartolini with 40 p.
Sunday – As with Superbike, Moto3 also “put a poker on the table”, that of Marcos Rudto. The 2WheelsPoliTo GP Project Racing Team rider achieved a double in Vallelunga, also going on to win on Sunday, thus demonstrating his great form. And also setting the new record time of 1’41.739. Behind him, second position for Elia Bartolini, with the Lucky Racing driver doing well after the technical problem that excluded him from the competition yesterday. Third position for Cristian Lolli (BeOn Cecchini Racing), however 27 seconds behind Ruda. In the general classification Ruda is leader with 100 points. ahead of Lolli with 68 points. and Bartolini with 60 p.
Premoto3
Saturday – Emotions down to the last centimeter of track in Premoto3, with a sprint finish involving three riders. The winner was poleman Cristian Borrelli (Bucci Moto Factory), ahead of Edoardo Savino (Team Leopard Academy by Roc’N’Dea) and Gionata Barbagallo (Team Echovit Pasini Racing), the latter who consoled himself with the leadership of Championship. Worth noting is the performance of Savino, a rookie in the category, who set the new lap record (1’47.026) on the last lap. All for a podium entirely branded Pata Talenti Azzurri FMI. In the general classification Barbagallo is at the top with 47 points. ahead of Pritelli (fourth in the race, Bucci Moto Factory) at 39 p. with Luca Agostinelli (present only in Misano as a wild card) at 38 p.
Sunday – More emotions until the end in Premoto3. Four riders came to compete for the victory in the sprint. In the end it was Cristian Borrelli (Bucci Moto) who won, thus achieving a splendid one-two in this Corriere dello Sport Roma Vallelunga Round. Martin Alberto Galiuto (Altogo Racing Team) finished very close to him, with Matteo Gabarrini (Team Echovit Pasini Racing) third. Excellent performance from the Pata Talento Azzurro FMI driver and part of the VR46 Academy, returning to Vallelunga after the injury suffered in the tests at the beginning of the year. Fourth place for Gionata Barbagallo (Team Echovit Pasini Racing), who however consoled himself with the Championship leadership. Bad luck for Edoardo Savino. The Team Leopard Academy by Roc’N’Dea standard-bearer was in full tussle with the leaders for the victory, only to then have a fall on the last lap. In the general classification Barbagallo is leader with 60 points. ahead of Borrelli with 57 and Galiuto with 51.
SS300
Saturday – Similar speech, compared to Premoto3, for the Supersport 300. The race saw a five-way battle for the victory, at the end of which Emanuele Cazzaniga was the one to celebrate. The Yamaha Racestar standard bearer thus made the best possible use of the pole obtained in the morning. Behind him was a photo finish, with Alfonso Coppola (Kawasaki Box Pedercini Corse) and Guido Fina (Kawasaki MCR Squadra Corse Prodina Junior Kawasaki) closing the podium, followed by Giacomo Zannoni (Kawasaki E&E Squadra Corse) and Nicola Plazzi (Kawasaki MGIM Corse). In the general classification Coppola is now leader with 60 points. ahead of Sabatucci with 50 points. (absent in Vallelunga due to injury) and Fina at 33 p.
Sunday – Brawl and adrenaline in the 300, with a race that saw the battle for victory end only in a photo finish. The success went to Alfonso Coppola, with the Kawasaki Box Pedercini Corse rider doubly celebrating, because thanks to the results in Vallelunga he will present himself at Mugello as leader of the classification. Behind him, second place for Guido Fina (Kawasaki MCR Squadra Corse Prodina Junior), with Chris Wright (Kawasaki 2 R Racing) in third place, first podium for him in the category. Fourth place for Emanuele Cazzaniga (Yamaha Racestar). In the general classification Coppola is first with 85 points. ahead of Fina with 53 points. and Sabatucci (out due to injury) at 50 p.
