Miniatur Wunderland, the theme park famous for its miniatures, released sections of the city of Rio de Janeiro as its new attraction today (2). The replica had a budget of R$9.5 million and took 4 years to complete.
Tourist attractions in Rio, such as Cristo Redentor, Marquês de Sapucaí and Copacabana beach, were replicated in two parts: one by Argentine artists in Buenos Aires and the other in the city of Hamburg, Germany, totaling more than 60,000 hours of work.

The river in Wunderland is 46 square meters long and cost a total of 1.5 million euros (about R$9.5 million). The stretches of the Rio de Janeiro city were the first in South America to appear in the museum, considered the “Miniature Wonderland”.
In 2021, the Miniatur Wonderland, located in the city of Hamburg, was considered the main tourist attraction in the country by the German National Tourist Board. The park opened in 2011 and has an area of 1,499 m², which cost more than 36 million euros.
Among Wonderland’s attractions are replica stretches from Austria, Venice, Germany and the United States.
