Juarez City.- Members of WhatsApp groups of supporters of former presidential candidate Xóchitl Gálvez on this border are preparing for the massive presentation of citizen lawsuits against overrepresentation in Congress, called by the PAN candidate on Monday.
Gálvez Ruiz urged the population to file a citizen lawsuit against the overrepresentation in the Congress of the Union by the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), the Labor Party (PT) and the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM).
In a video posted on social media, the senator from the National Action Party (PAN) said that the opposition “wants to steal” more than 10 million votes from us, that is, reduce positions in the Legislative Branch, this in the context of the distribution of plurinominal positions in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic.
However, the state leadership of the National Action Party (PAN) distanced itself from the proposal.
“I don’t know anything about the issue, the party hasn’t asked us for anything. I know that there are challenges presented by the national PAN and I understand that that is enough. The position of PAN Chihuahua is that we trust the institutions; the appeals filed are enough, I think,” said the state president of that party, Gabriel Díaz Negrete.
4T wants 75% of the spaces
According to the politician, in the elections of June 2, Morena, PT and PVEM obtained 54 percent of the total votes for the Congress of the Union; however, she accused that “in a bad way” they seek to have more than 75 percent of all the spaces in the two aforementioned chambers.
“With this, a vote they obtained would be worth more than a vote obtained by the opposition. Imagine! If this overrepresentation is approved, Morena and its allies could change the Constitution at will. We cannot allow this!” he said on Monday.
National Crusade
Meanwhile, after demanding that the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) make a fair allocation of proportional representation deputies, Marko Cortés, national president of the PAN, announced that his party will carry out a national crusade so that magistrates attend to this fair demand.
He said that through billboards, promotional material during official party times and activism with civil society, the National Action Party (PAN) will protest against the attempted abuse of the citizen’s vote.
