One more year, Cinfa summons its solidarity photographic contest ‘The patient’s gaze’that in its seventh edition maintains a double objective. On the one hand, give visibility to the reality of people who live with disability or chronic diseases, in the first person or as family caregivers who accompany them in their day to day. On the other, support the work of the associations of Spanish patients, who carry out a fundamental task in improving the quality of life of all of them.
As in previous calls, the contest establishes three double awards: one for the author or author of the photograph and another for the association you choose when presenting the snapshot. To participate, it is simply necessary to be of legal age with residence in Spain and complete the registration form, available on the official website Lamiradadelpaciente.cinfa.comwhere the legal bases can also be consulted (the deadline for submission will be extended until March 6 at 12 noon).
Visibility and awareness
«The patient’s look ‘initiative’, as its name indicates -says Enrique Ordieres, president of Cinfa -, seeks to be a window through which we look out to the reality of thousands of people who live with a disease or disability daily . Both the contest, as the books and exhibitions that we have launched inspired by their photographs, have given us the opportunity to meet unique people, with hard stories, but full of life, that help us understand the value of health » . Ordieres highlights the relevance of this action for the Cinfa team, “since, with it we seek to focus, never better, these situations, in order to give them visibility and socially raise awareness about it.”
‘The patient’s gaze’ is a solidarity contest, whose awards are mainly in patient associations. How to participate?: Photographers and photographers should indicate to which patient entity they want to support and, in case their snapshot is selected, the prize will be double, with a contribution of 3,500 euros for the association and 1,500 euros for the author or author of the image; A second prize, of 2,500 euros for the entity and 1,000 euros for the author, and a third of 1,500 euros for the association and 500 euros for the photographer.
