Challenges the process and denounces that the person who took over the contract for the nursery was on the electoral list of Citizens
The plenary session of Fuente Álamo, with the votes in favor of the local government (PP and Ciudadanos) and PSOE, ratified the contracting table’s proposal to grant MCV M the management of the work-life balance center –the municipal nursery– , for an annual amount of 298,984 euros. However, the only mayor of the Cifa municipal group, Agustín Sánchez, announced the challenge of the procedure “as null and void” when verifying that the successful bidder was a member of the electoral lists of Citizens in the local elections of 2015 and 2019, ” without the Councilor for Finance and Contracting and president of the Contracting Board, José Antonio Oliver, a member of that formation, absent himself due to incompatibility in all the meetings of this body ».
Sánchez accused Oliver of “not acting with the political decency that he displays”, and demanded his “resignation because it is clearly an abuse of power, taking into account the context surrounding this procedure”.
For her part, the mayor, Juana María Martínez, offered to speak in plenary session to the councilor for the Treasury to defend herself against the statements of the mayor of Cifa, but did not intervene.
In his turn to speak prior to Agustín Sánchez’s accusations, Oliver explained that the award of the new contract was made after verifying that MCV M’s offer was the “best value for money”, and that, in any case, its entry in force is subject to the “conclusion of the second file to terminate the contract with the current concessionaire, Larena Cooperativa”.
As LA TRUTH advanced, the local government understands that Larena has not been complying, since the end of 2021, with the conditions of the contract, while the company assures that it is the Consistory that “with its defaults” is preventing the development of the activity contracted by award in October last year.
