The Los Mochis Pioneros lit up at the end of the game to beat the Mexico City Angels 90-80, securing the second series of the second round of the Chevron-Cibacopa 2024 League. The match between Sinaloans and capital, took place on Saturday night at the Los Mochis Multipurpose Center.
The game started with some offensive inconsistencies for both quintets, where after two points scored by Pioneros at the start, it was not until three and a half minutes later that the score was tied at two. Subsequently, both teams seemed more established on the court and the game was about attack and counterattack, ending the period tied at 20 points.

The first part of the second quarter was common to see equal numbers on the board; Ángeles led by up to nine points, and although the locals got closer, the capital's team managed to go into the break of the first half with a 41-38 advantage, winning the period 21-18.
Third period of great emotions was experienced in the Pioneros housewith both teams giving each other on the floor, and finishing tied at 19 points, so the scoreboard read 60-57 at the end of it, with an advantage for the visitor.
The locals achieved a minimum advantage four minutes into the last period, 68-67, before the excitement of the hundreds of fans present at the CUM. Pioneros was defending and increasing the advantages, and with one minute remaining, the advantage was already double digits: 88-78.
The North American Jordan Michael Allen was the best scorer for the localswith 27 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Raphiael Putney was the most valuable player, with a double-double: 22 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, with four blocks.
For those from Mexico City, Daquan Bracey stood out with 22 points, five rebounds and seven assists.
