Andrea Crugnola / Pietro Ometto win by dominating the Il Ciocco E Valle Del Serchio Rally, the first event of the 2022 season of the Italian Absolute Rally Championship.
Back on the Citroën C3 Rally2 with which they had won the title two years ago, the guys from FPF Sport literally flew along the asphalted paths of Tuscany.
The man from Varese was a lightning bolt from the very first of the 12 Special Stages scheduled, winning a total of 9 paired with Ometto, including the penultimate stage 11 “Careggine” (19.80km) and then lifting his foot in the very last stage 12 “Renaio 2 “(14.32km).
In addition to the full loot, Crugnola-Ometto also put in his pocket the 3 points earned yesterday in the Power Stage, which in terms of championship ranking can always have their weight.

In second place, separated by 31 “1, are classified Damiano De Tommaso / Giorgia Ascalone, who with the Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo prepared by CR Motorsport-Meteco Corse are the authors of a great race against much more rated rivals, also winning a PS.
Thanks to the chronometric success in the PS12 final, Giandomenico Basso / Lorenzo Granai hit their very first place with the Hyundai i20 N Rally2.
The newcomers to Friulmotor accumulate 42 “3 behind the top, but they competed without daring too much with a car still to be thoroughly known in what is a season of defense of the Italian flag for them.
After a very long fight with the reigning champions, they must therefore be satisfied with fourth place at 3 “from Stefano Albertini / Danilo Fappani, still managing to place the Škoda tuned by BSSport-PARacing for 6” in front of Rudy’s Volkswagen Polo GTI Michelini / Michele Perna (Movisport), also long in contention for the third position.

Giacomo Scattolon / Giovanni Bernacchini instead finished in sixth with the Movisport-Erreffe Škoda, with some recriminations for the time lost in the second half of the race which pushed them away from the aforementioned group.
The seventh place for Fabio Andolfi / Manuel Fenoli with the Fabia of MS Munaretto is not the best, considering that the Ligurian in the past year had been protagonist in the duels for the podium on more than one occasion and has long been labeled as one of the rallies prospects of our house.
Tommaso Ciuffi / Nicolò Gonella concluded with the eighth place on the Škoda of PARacing, beating that of Gianluca Tosi / Alessandro Del Barba (Movisport-Gima Autosport) who in the final section made a spin at a hairpin bend losing precious time.
Antonio Rusce / Giulia Paganoni in the Movisport Hyundai completed the Top10, keeping far behind the Škodas of Christopher Lucchesi / Titti Ghilardi (HP Sport-GR Racing) and Alessio Profeta / Sergio Raccuia (RO Racing).
