According to what is reported on the site VGC, Chrono Cross it could be the remake PlayStation has been working on for months, which could be presented in December during The Game Awards. This hypothesis is the result of various sources and information, starting with the famous September leak involving NVidia.
The leak had in fact anticipated the arrival of God of War on PC, several months before Sony officially confirmed the news, along with many other titles including a hypothetical remastered version of Chrono Cross. The famous JRPG, spiritual sequel of Chrono Trigger, could therefore be officially unveiled next month.
The news of the announcement of a remake had already appeared last month, with voices that seemed to suggest Xenogears, due to the statements of an Irish folk singer, who had recorded audio tracks just for Sony. Apparently it is instead Chrono Cross, as also confirmed by Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra.
Baker himself it also suggests that this remastered version may not be a Sony exclusive, but it could also arrive on other platforms. Here is his statement, translated into Italian:
What I’ve been told – because everyone works under the assumption that it’s PlayStation exclusive – I’ve been told it’s not. The only word that was used was ‘cross-platform’. Now when I hear JRPG and multiplatform I automatically assume PC, PlayStation, Switch, that’s my guess. That’s not what I’ve been told, it’s just my guess. My source just told me ‘multiplatform’. That’s what they said, they told me it wasn’t a PlayStation exclusive.
The upcoming ‘big PlayStation remake’ recently teased by a composer is reportedly Square Enix’s Chrono Cross.https://t.co/H59PFCUA8S

It would therefore seem that next month we can expect a remake of Chrono Cross, which apparently will be officially unveiled during The Game Awards, the evening dedicated to prizes from the world of video games.
