The young Chinese soccer player Guo Jiaxuan, 18, has died in his country after suffering a serious head wound during a training in Spain a month ago, as a player’s brother said Thursday.
Guo Jiaxuan entered a coma in February after an accident during a training game in Madrid between his U20 team in Beijing and the Spanish RC Alcobendas. He was declared with “brain death” in a hospital in Madrid before being transferred to China to continue his attention.
According to several local media, Guo died on Wednesday night at the Tiantan Hospital in Beijin after a deterioration of his condition.
