Chinese Foreign Ministry: Beijing is concerned about the escalation of the conflict in connection with the liquidation of Nasrallah
Beijing is concerned about the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East in connection with the elimination by the Israeli side of the Secretary General of the Shiite Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah. This is stated in statement on the Chinese Foreign Ministry website.
“China pays close attention to relevant incidents and is deeply concerned about the escalation of regional tensions. China opposes violations of Lebanese sovereignty and security, opposes and condemns all actions that harm innocent civilians, as well as any steps that exacerbate conflicts and heighten regional tensions,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
Beijing calls on parties to the conflict, especially Israel, to take steps to prevent tensions from further escalating and spiraling out of control. According to the Chinese side, what is happening between Lebanon and Israel is a side effect of the events in Gaza.
On September 28, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the Israeli military managed to eliminate the Secretary General of the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah movement, Hassan Nasrallah, as a result of a rocket attack on Beirut. Hezbollah representatives confirmed this information.
