China announced the opening of the first specialized airport for cargo in the country, and in the continent of Asia. And the Chinese news agency “Xinhua” reported that the first Boeing 767-300 cargo plane took off from “Azhou Huahu” airport in Hubei Province, in the center of the country, marking the official start of operation of the airport, which is the first specialized cargo hub airport in Asia, and the fourth of its kind in the world.
It added that the new airport, which is equipped with a cargo terminal of 23,000 square meters, a transit center of nearly 700,000 square meters, 124 stands and two runways, is expected to improve the efficiency of air cargo transportation and promote the country’s openness.
