China has compiled a list of ten of the world’s most terrible dishes, including cheese with live larvae, cooked bats, durian, shark meat with a pronounced ammonia smell and other delights, reported on Friday, August 20. Life…
For example, a Chinese Internet user of the WeChat platform named fermented shark meat with a pungent urine smell (haucarl) as one of the most unusual and terrible dishes in the world. He said that the inhabitants of Iceland dig small holes on a sandy beach, put shark meat cut into pieces, cover it with sand and pebbles, and then cover it with a layer of large stones and keep it there for three to five months.
The list also includes finely chopped lamb guts (haggis). The Scots empty the stomach of the ram and put the chopped inside of the ram, such as the heart, liver and lungs, into it.
The Chinese also found the horrible bat curry, called panic in Indonesia, the foul-smelling durian fruit from Mali, oil-fried grasshoppers with a little salt from Uganda, and pigeons eaten in France.
The user also drew attention to the Italian cheese casu marzu, made from environmentally friendly organic goat milk, to which larvae are added for fermentation.
Finally, the top three are Taiwanese pork blood and glutinous rice patties, which are usually steamed or fried and then cut into strips solid. In second place was wine infused with live or dried snakes from Vietnam.
The first line of the rating was taken by a balut from Southeast Asia – duck eggs, aged 15-18 days before the chick embryo ripens in them. The Chinese added that when eating such food, the skeleton and plumage will be visible in the egg.
On August 17, nutritionist Daria Rusakova said that not all fermented milk products are equally useful. For example, yoghurts and curds with various additives and fillings are best classified as dessert dishes, since they contain more carbohydrates than natural curds or yogurt.
