The Chinese authorities have introduced quarantine in the city of Manchouli, bordering the Trans-Baikal Territory (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Northeastern China), reports TASS.
The reason was two cases of coronavirus pneumonia.
The city banned meetings and public events, temporarily closed schools, kindergartens and leisure facilities.
The authorities announced preparations for mass testing in the city, whose population is about 172 thousand people.
It is also reported that passenger rail links with the city have been temporarily suspended.
