It was well known that the remake of Until Dawn wasn’t doing very well on PC, but now there are also PlayStation 5 dataits natural home so to speak, where it appears to be doing even worse. According to what was found by the TrueTrophies site, which monitors the data of over 3.1 million active PSN accounts, the Ballistic Moon title would have achieved the unenviable result of doing worse than Concord at launch.
Terrible numbers
Considering that Firewalk Studios’ hero shooter was erased from existence about two weeks after it hit the market, it’s hard to see any glimmer of potential success for the horror game. TrueTrophies also quantified the gap between the two titles: Until Dawn had 28% fewer players than Concord on PS5.
For the sake of comparison, the site mentioned another PlayStation PS5 game released this year, viz The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, which saw 98.5% more players than Until Dawndespite also being a re-release.
As reported in another piece of news, Until Dawn also did not record large numbers on Steam, with a maximum peak of contemporary players which reached 2,607 units and which is now below 1,000 units on a daily basis. It did better than Concord, probably because it’s new to the platform, but let’s talk about anyway one of the worst PlayStation launches ever.
What is unfortunate is the fact that these are largely predictable results, however a project that immediately appeared completely senselessconsidering that the 2014 PS4 original is still very playable and valid today, without the need for a remake. Furthermore, the launch price of 69.99 euros didn’t really help.
