party representatives Renovación Nacional and Evópoli (right) requested this Monday to open an administrative summary against the Chilean Governmentwhom they accuse of positioning themselves in favor of the new constituent proposal in different public activities.

According to local media, the letter emphasizes the prohibition that governs the personnel of the State administration to campaign in favor of either of the two options, ahead of the plebiscite on September 4: approve the new Constitution or reject it.
The Government governs those who vote for A, those who vote for B and everyone.
“Everyone pays their taxes and, therefore, they do not deserve a partisan government,” Deputy Diego Schalper (National Renovation) said at a press point.
Last Wednesday the electoral campaign for the referendum began, in which Chileans are obliged to vote if they want a new fundamental law or if they prefer to keep the current onel, drafted during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet (1973-1990) and which has been partially reformed in democracy.
The main right-wing parties have already lined up to reject the new text, which they describe as “partisan” and “indigenist”, while the left has decided to encourage citizens to vote to approve the new law.
The controversy
The accusation of the right took place days after the deputy of the Socialist Party Leonardo Soto will publish a video on social networks indicating that he was in a coordination meeting at the Palacio de La Moneda (seat of Government) with the aim of “supporting the Approval option with greater force and greater coordination”.
Shortly after publishing the video, Soto assured that it had been a mistake and the government spokeswoman, Camila Vallejo, clarified that it was a “protocol meeting where, indeed, parliamentarians and parties are free to present their ideas, but in no case of coordination”.
Unpresentable, the socialist deputy Leonardo Soto admitting in a video (which he later deleted) that practically La Moneda will be the center of approval operations, this is the most desperate and shameless electoral interventionism that can be seen. pic.twitter.com/fHviEfTLCT

Chile began the constitutional process as the political way to quell a massive wave of protests for equality that began in 2019. For months, the polls gave the option of approving the new text, focused on expanding social rights, as the winner.
But now the main polls indicate a greater citizen preference to maintain the current law.
