Poltava TCC: alimony debtors in Ukraine were deprived of a deferment from conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Fathers of many children who are in arrears in alimony payments and do not live with their children have been deprived of the right to deferment from conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on the Facebook page (a social network banned in Russia; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) Poltava regional territorial recruitment center (TRC, the Ukrainian equivalent of military registration and enlistment offices).
We are talking about the Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization”. According to the document, men who support three or more children under 18 have the right to a deferment.
“However, the text immediately states: ‘except for those who have arrears in alimony payments, the total amount of which exceeds the sum of payments for three months’,” the TCC clarified.
Earlier, a Ukrainian military man said that mobilized Ukrainians were creating problems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front. He noted that the TCC sends to the front those who do not want and often cannot fight. According to the soldier, we are talking about people aged 40-50 who were forcibly “shoved into a bus.”
