Child of Light’s future looks less rosy than we hoped for.
Remember Patrick Plourde’s tweet which was almost certain to have a Child of Light sequel? The creator of the game is back on the subject soon, with an interesting adjustment: apparently, Child of Light will continue, but not in the form of “Child of Light 2”, as it was never authorized by Ubisoft.
In replies to the tweet, Plourde specifies that the new game will pick up the story of Aurora and Igniculus after the Child of Light ending, but that it will be “a crossover to another world”. However, Plourde also writes that it will not be developed by them (i.e. Ubisoft, or the Ubisoft Montreal studio), but from other developers who love the IP.
Please don’t do this to us. We are still recovering about last time you talked about the Switch version and we could see Child of Light 2 paper behind the Switch. I am about to cry of joy.

The “crossover” entity of the title makes some fans think that it is an appearance in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, but Plourde seems to suggest that it is indeed a whole and new game. At the same time, everything is silent about the TV series dedicated to Child of Light, around 2018 it was starting to take shape.
