Chihuahua It is the second state among the entities in the north of the country with the highest number of single parents.
According to the 2020 Population and Housing Census of Inegi, the number of single parents in the country amounts to approximately 105,000, of which 16,417 are located in the state. The entity is placed only below Nuevo León, which registers 19,126 single parents.
By age groups, 26 percent of single parents are between 40 and 49 years old; 25 percent are between 30 and 39 years old; 35 percent are over 50 years old; 13 percent are in the 20 to 29 age group and one percent of parents are between 15 and 19 years old.
While by educational level, 56 percent of parents only have basic education studies. 21 percent registered upper secondary level studies; 19 percent studied at a higher level and four percent did not have any schooling.
In general, 97 percent were engaged in some economic activity. The rest (three percent) of single fathers reported themselves as unemployed.
Regarding the position at work of those who were employed, 71 out of every 100 were salaried workers, 22 percent said they were self-employed, 4 percent carried out some economic activity as a boss or employer and 3 percent reported working without receiving a salary.
Of the total number of salaried workers, 64 percent of single parents received some type of benefit in the economic activity they carried out; not the remaining 36 percent. Regarding the type of benefits, 60 percent received a bonus, 55 percent had medical service and 54 percent had vacations with pay. In addition, 50 percent of salaried parents had Afore or SAR (retirement savings); 49 percent had paid leave or disability, 47 percent had access to housing credit and 38 percent received profit sharing.
According to the information published by the National Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2020, the highest level of average quarterly monetary income of men aged 15 to 49, with dependent children aged 0 to 17 who resided in the same home , was presented to those who said they had two children, with 30,692 pesos. Then there are those with three children, with 28 thousand 797 pesos and with one child, with 26 thousand 727 pesos. The lowest income levels were observed in those who reported four or more children, with 25,864 pesos.
