Javier Hernández is one of the most successful Mexican soccer players in recent years. ‘Chicharito’ had an outstanding career on the Old Continent with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham and Sevilla. The attacker has also had a brilliant performance with the Mexican National Team, of which he is the top scorer in history. Recently, André Pierre Gignac, striker for Tigres, had words of praise for the Aztec striker.
In an interview, Gignac assured that he wants to see ‘Chicharito’ back with El Tri and assured that he wants to see the Mexican team in the fifth game. “I’m not a coach, but I love Mexico (…) It’s an incredible weapon for the team, I hope they can talk among adults and reach a solution. I’m not inside the team, I don’t know what happened and I don’t want to know, but It would be a luxury reinforcement, really,” added the French striker.
At a press conference, Javier Hernández responded to André Pierre Gignac’s statements and thanked the UANL Tigres player. “Whenever there are comments from a player, beyond whether they are talented or not, with such an important human quality, he is always very nice, he is appreciated. For something he is doing so well in life because he is a crack inside and out of the field”, said the ‘Chicharito’ about the Frenchman.
Since September 2019, Hernández has not been considered by Gerardo Martino to play for El Tri; this due to off-field problems. In his speech, “Chicharito” assured that he is still open to returning to El Tri and that he will work to be taken into account.
“I will answer as always, I am a soccer player. I am going to try to do it in the best way so that I am taken into account, as my grandfather and my father always taught me, how to be a national team (…) What you do with your club, if you stand out and do it the best way, is a tool to be summoned. Later, they are the coach’s decisions”, added ‘Chicharito’.
