The city hall of São Paulo decreed an optional point from Monday (28) until 12:00 on Ash Wednesday (2). The measure suspends work in the public administration, but part of the activities, such as vaccination against covid-19, will continue normally in the city.
Check out what opens and closes in São Paulo:
– Banks: the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) informed that, due to a resolution by the Central Bank, the calendar of bank holidays is maintained and, on Monday and Tuesday of Carnival, there will be no public service at the branches. On Ash Wednesday, the workday starts at 12:00, ending at the normal opening hours of the branches.
– Car rotation: the municipal car rotation will be suspended from Monday to Wednesday and will resume Thursday (3). The other restrictions on circulation – Maximum Restriction Zone for the Circulation of Trucks (ZMRC) and Chartered Vehicles (ZMRF) and the Blue Zone – will continue to be in force throughout the period.
– Vaccination: immunization against covid-19 will be available during the weekend and on the following days at specific posts in the capital of São Paulo. On Saturday (26), the Municipal Health Department will immunize the Ambulatory Medical Assistance (AMAs) – Basic Health Units (UBSs) Integrated, from 8 am to 19 pm, for application of the first, second and additional dose. Children from 5 to 11 years of age, adolescents and adults can be vaccinated.
On Sunday (27), vaccination will take place exclusively for adolescents and adults, from 8 am to 4 pm, at partner pharmacies on Avenida Paulista (at numbers 2371 and 266) and, from 8 am to 5 pm, in Buenos Aires, Severo Gomes, do Carmo parks. , Villa-Lobos (from 11 am to 4 pm), Independence and Youth.
On Monday (28) and Tuesday (1st), vaccination will be at AMAs/UBSs Integradas, from 8 am to 7 pm, for children aged 5 to 11 years, adolescents and adults. On Ash Wednesday (2), the vaccine will be available at Integrated WADAs/UBSs from 8 am to 7 pm. From noon, the entire network will vaccinate again: UBSs until 7 pm, and megaposts and drive-thrus until 5 pm.
– Street Carnival: the city hall of São Paulo canceled the street carnival in the city. The samba school parade, which would take place at the Anhembi Sambadrome, was transferred to the 16th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 29th of April.
– Medical care: hospitals and emergency rooms will be open and with uninterrupted operation; Outpatient Medical Assistance (AMAs) 24 hours; Emergency Care Units (UPAs); Psychosocial Care Center Alcohol and Drugs 4 Redemption and Samu. Will not work from Saturday to Ash Wednesday: Basic Health Units (UBSs); Coexistence and Cooperative Centers (Ceccos) and Specialized Rehabilitation Centers (CERs); and the Municipal Specialized Network (RME) in sexually transmitted infections STIs/AIDS.
Buses and subways: according to SPtrans, the circulation of buses on Saturday (26), Monday (28) and Tuesday (1st), will be equivalent to a normal Saturday. On Sunday (27), the fleet will not change. On Wednesday (2) it will be the operational fleet corresponding to working days, with 11,685 vehicles.
On the Metro, on Saturday, the entire system will work without any changes. On Sunday (27), Line 1-Blue will start at 2 pm, due to tests of the new Signaling and Train Control (CBTC) system. To serve passengers, the Metro will provide buses from the Paese system, which will travel the stretch between Jabaquara and Tucuruvi, in both directions.
On Monday (28) and Tuesday (1 March) there is no forecast of changes in the operation of the stations. Lines 1- Blue and 3- Red, which concentrate the majority of passengers traveling through the system, will have an average interval between trains (in the morning and afternoon peak hours) of approximately four minutes. On Wednesday, with the exception of Jardim Colonial Station, on Line 15- Silver, all will open at 4:40 am.
