A study conducted by the site Time2Playrevealed that North American players from PlayStation consider it acceptable to cheat in video games, being only above the users of Xbox.
The data was obtained from a survey of a thousand participants with different preferences regarding their gaming platforms, which gave diversity to the results.
According to the study, 81% of users of PlayStation considered cheating acceptable, compared to 80% of gamers Xbox78% of users of pc and 77% of the followers of Nintendo.
Interestingly, the general opinion of the respondents commented that they perceived PC users as the most cheaters, but the results left them in a good position.
Another detail that stands out in this study is that 83% of generation Z, born between 1996 and 2012, have already normalized the use of cheats in video games, while 77% of millennials share this thought.
As you can see, it is alarming that the percentages are so high, and that would explain why the famous anti cheat systems are still necessary.
The games with the most cheats
Time2Play’s survey also uncovered the top 10 cheating titles, and interestingly enough, the top spots aren’t battle royale or massive.
The list is as follows:
- Among Us
- Animal Crossing
- apex legends
- Battlefield V
- Grand Theft Auto
- ARK: Survival Evolved
- Black Desert
- Call of Duty Black Ops
- FIFA
- Fortnite
Although the study focused only on North American players, the results show a worrying picture, since the use of cheats is accepted by the majority of users on all platforms.
