New lights on the case of Nexhat Rama, 40-year-old of Kosovar origin, found burnt Monday in the trunk of a Range Rover. In the barracks Davide Cristiano Mossali, a 53-year-old mechanic, author of the murder, is interrogated
A debt of thirty thousand euros that in a very short time would have almost doubled. According to the investigators, this is the motive that prompted Davide Cristiano Mossali, a 53-year-old mechanic from Palazzolo in the province of Brescia, to kill Nexhat Rama, the 40-year-old of Kosovar origin found charred Monday afternoon in the trunk of a Range Rover set on fire between the rows of vines in the Franciacorta countryside.
Voluntary murder aggravated by premeditation, destruction of a corpse and illegal carrying of arms the charges for the Italian, owner of a repair shop, who last night was heard for long hours in the Masotti barracks of the provincial command of the Carabinieri of Brescia.
The man does not seem to have confessed to the crime, but according to what was reconstructed by the military of the Chiari company’s operational section and by colleagues of the Brescia investigative unit, the 53-year-old would thus have responded to the threats of his creditor, Rama, a well-known face to justice, with precedents for extortion, convicted of possession of weapons and on trial in recent months for the attempted fire of the villa on Lake Garda by a manager of Esselunga.
Investigators speculate that Mossali turned to Rama because he was in economic difficulties and would have received several sums of money in several installments. Debt that he was unable to pay off. According to the reconstruction of the investigator, the two would have met on Monday in the mechanic’s workshop who had a well-thought-out plan in mind: to kill Rama and make him disappear. He finished off his creditor with a gun and then loaded the body into the trunk of the car in which the Kosovar presented himself, owned by the victim’s brother. In the car, together with the body, Mossali also loaded the petrol cans that would have been used to erase all traces. He then headed to the countryside between Cologne and Palazzolo, which he knows well, to set fire to the car with his creditor inside.
The investigators would have arrived in Italian thanks to the analysis of the cameras present around the victim’s house and the testimony of his brother, questioned on Monday after the car was found. He would have been the one to lead the investigators on the trail of the killer. Meanwhile, the investigations continue. Pending the validation interrogation, the carabinieri want to reconstruct the motive exactly, if Mossali was under wear, and to understand if he did it all by himself.
