Chancellor Scholz has taken part in numerous international rounds of negotiations in recent weeks. Now he will discuss what was discussed in a cabinet meeting.
Berlin – Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) traveled from negotiation round to negotiation round in the past few days. What exactly was discussed and decided during these negotiations will be discussed in the Bundestag on Wednesday (06 July 2022).
The cabinet meeting will begin in the morning, after which the chancellor will start with a report on a current topic. Afterwards, the MPs can ask the Chancellor questions. Approximately one hour is allotted for the survey.
NATO accession: Sweden and Finland carry out a paradigm shift
Before that happens, however, the plenary session will have the first reading of the ratification law for the Nato-Accession of Finland and Sweden on the agenda. Finally, the Bundestag on Friday about the inclusion of the two Nordic EU-Coordinate countries into the European defense alliance. The Federal Council should also make a decision on this matter on the same day.
The historically neutral countries of Finland and Sweden, due to the Russian war of aggression against the Ukraine with their broken traditional military neutrality and by applying for NATO membership, it is carrying out a lasting paradigm shift in its defense policy.
Above all, the entry of Finland is for Moscow not only a political defeat, but greatly reduces the country’s nuclear capabilities. Most nuclear missiles of Russia are stationed along the border with Finland and are connected from north to south by just one road. (lz)
