After years of waiting, a few weeks ago it was confirmed that Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent it will come to the West in the future. Now, a new trailer has confirmed the launch window for this mobile title, as well as a beta period for users of Android devices.
Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continentwhich works as a prequel to the game we saw on the Nintendo Switch in 2018, arrived in Japan in 2020, and in the summer of this year western users will finally be able to enjoy this RPG. Unfortunately, an exact release date was not provided. This is Square Enix’s description of this title:
“Travel across Orsterra as ‘The Chosen One,’ and fight to stop the insatiable tyrants who seek to unleash the deepest darkness across the land. He enjoys high-quality graphics, combat, and an OCTOPATH TRAVELER narrative in this mobile prequel.”
Similar to Octopath Traveler, this title has a 2D-HD visual style. All exploration, combat, and party building activities will be composed by composer Yasunori Nishiki, who handled this for the 2018 title. Hopefully we’ll have more information on this game as soon as possible.
Similarly, Android device users can now pre-register here to participate in a beta period in the future. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will be available on iOS and Android devices in the summer of 2022. Editor’s Note:
Although we are talking about a mobile game, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent it is a complete delivery. The only thing that worries me is how this title will be monetized, since this is a free-to-play game in Japan.
