The US Army announced that it shot down over the Red Sea, during two separate interception operations, a drone and two missiles launched by the Houthis in Yemen, following their announcement of carrying out a series of targeting in the vital waterway.
The US Central Military Command in the Middle East (Centcom) said in a statement on the “X” platform that no injuries or damage were reported to the ships that were sailing in the region when the two interception operations took place.
She explained that out of three drones launched by the Houthis, the US army shot down one during the day, while the other two fell into the sea.
Yesterday evening, Central Command forces successfully intercepted two anti-ship ballistic missiles over the Red Sea, according to the statement, confirming that the two missiles were fired towards the US destroyer Greeley and were destroyed in the context of self-defense, and no damage or injuries were reported.
