Ciudad Juarez.- The 2024 Pachuco Festival celebrated the 109th anniversary of the birth of the iconic artist Germán Valdés “Tin Tan”, emblem of Pachuco culture in Mexico, an event organized by the Institute for Culture of the Municipality of Juárez (IPACULT).
With an emotional ceremony that included the inauguration of a mural and the new movie theater “El Barco de la Ilusión”, located in the Germán Valdés “Tin Tan” Art Room.
The mural, a work created by artist Francisco Alfredo Chávez Flores, was unveiled as part of a visual tribute to the legacy of Tin Tan, whose influence on Mexican popular culture continues to be felt.
Music was another of the festival’s main attractions, with performances by various musical groups and ensembles, including Los Lagartos, El Son del Barrio, Capi Noriega and the Symphonic Band of the Creative Seedbeds of the Juárez System.
Additionally, groups such as Pachucos Independientes, Pachucos 656, and Elegantes Ciudad Juárez also contributed to the colorful and energetic atmosphere of the event.
This cultural event reaffirms local pride in the figure of Germán Valdés “Tin Tan” and the rich Pachuco tradition that has left an indelible mark on the identity of Ciudad Juárez.
