The municipal coronavirus case tracking center will prioritize the monitoring of vulnerable people
The municipal center for tracking and monitoring cases of coronavirus of Lorca (Cecovid) reopened this Wednesday with a total of 30 professionals from the Emergency service and Civil Protection volunteers. Located in the premises of the Integrated Security and Emergency Center, it will operate from Monday to Sunday and six tracking posts have been established in two shifts, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 9 p.m., its coordinator said in statements to LA VERDAD, Juan Pedro Martinez. He explained that the initial objective is to track more than 2,000 people who have not yet been tracked in the municipality. Symptomatic people and vulnerable groups such as pregnant women, transplant patients and cancer patients will be prioritized.
The Cecovid is coordinated with the General Directorate of Public Health and with the Murcian Health Service and will serve to unload the work of primary care centers, saturated by the rapid expansion of coronavirus infections. This center, which was a pioneer in the Region at the time, operated for nine months between October 2020 and June 2021 and in that period local trackers carried out telephone monitoring of 7,000 infected and their 31,000 close contacts.
