Piotr Nielubowicz, the Chief Financial Officer of CD Projektthe studio behind The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077, sees no room for microtransactions in games single player of the company. This does not mean that they will not be considered for multiplayer games.
Nielubowicz's statement came on the occasion of a question and answer session with investorsin which he was explicitly asked if there will be microtransactions in future CD Projekt Red games.
Nielubowicz: “There is no place for microtransactions in the case of single player games, but we do not exclude the possibility of using them in the future, in the case of projects multiplayer.”
Consistency
So CD Projekt Red's position remains firm on the topic, thus avoiding alienating part of its community.
Who knows if the next single player projects will be managed in the same way as the previous ones, that is, with the launch of large expansions months or years after their arrival on the market and with some Free DLC published in the meantime.
