The union demands a “unanimous decision” for all its staff, regardless of category, students and any other subcontractor staff working in health centers
The Trade Union Commissions (CC OO) requested this Thursday the Murcian Health Service (SMS) not to “discriminate” against its staff in the health centers of the Region of Murcia with regard to the administration of the third dose of the vaccine against the coronavirus, according to sources from the organization in a statement.
“Since the vaccination of the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine began in the health centers of the Region, several workers have felt discrimination due to their professional category,” the union said.
According to CC OO, in the last meeting of the SMS Health and Safety Committee “it was reported that only health care personnel would be vaccinated with the third dose, excluding non-health care personnel, such as orderlies, or administrative assistants in first line”. After the “commotion” generated by this decision, the criterion was corrected by including all healthcare personnel of any healthcare or non-healthcare category.
For the union, “the rest of the personnel who work or carry out internships in the SMS centers are still outside the vaccination criteria.” In line, he indicated that, according to the Ministry of Health, “when talking about health personnel, everyone who provides their services in any health center is included, whether they are their own, trainees or cleaning staff, kitchen, among others.” .
For this reason, CC OO demanded from the SMS a “unanimous decision” of vaccination for all its personnel, regardless of category, students and any other subcontractor personnel who work in health centers.
«A correct vaccination of all the personnel of the health centers is necessary to give security to the entire population, since the main objectives of this third dose are to reduce the incidence of Ttmporal disabilities of Covid-19, and the protection and prevention of cross infections, in order to provide good coverage to users of Murcian healthcare at all levels, “he added.
