The death of legendary music producer Quincy Jones was due to pancreatic canceras published by several American media that have had access to the death certificate issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
According to CNN and ‘TMZ’, this illness has been recorded in the document as sole cause of death of the musician, known for his work with figures such as Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra.
Quincy Jones’ family, including his daughter, actress Rashida Jones, held a private ceremony in his honor in Los Angeles, attended by his seven children, his brother, two sisters and other close relatives. Additionally, the family has announced that there will be a public celebration to pay tribute to his life, although the date has not yet been confirmed.
Arnold Robinson, Quincy’s publicist, confirmed to ‘TMZ’ that the producer was surrounded by his family at the time of his death at his home in Bel-Air, Los Angeles. Relatives issued a statement in which they described his loss as “a great blow,” and highlighted the greatness of his life and the cultural impact he had.
In the statement, the family asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Quincy Jones to the Jazz Foundation of Americaan organization that supports struggling musicians, as a way to honor their love and commitment to music. The producer leaves an immense legacy in the music industry, and his impact continues to be admired around the world.
