An international cat breeders association is “shocked and appalled” by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Cats from Russia are excluded from competitions.
Kassel – The cat breeding association “Fédération Internationale Féline” (FEFe) has decided to exclude cats from Russia from international competitions. The reason is that the board “cannot just stand by and do nothing about these atrocities,” according to the organization’s website. Many companies have also reacted to the Ukraine war and are ending business relationships with Russia.
As FEFe reports, cats bred in Russia may no longer be imported and entered in an FEFe pedigree. In addition, these cats may no longer be exhibited at association shows. For the time being, the restrictions apply from the beginning of March to the end of June 2022. If necessary, they are to be extended.

Ukraine war: FIFe supports cat breeders
According to Daily News, animals are also from the current Ukraine conflict* affected. For example, in Kyiv zoo animals had to be saved. That’s why FIFe decided to use part of its budget to support Ukrainian people who breed and love cats. Exactly how this should work is still being discussed with FIFe members.
The association reports that there has already been help for Ukrainians from FEFe members from countries bordering Ukraine, such as Poland, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Moldova. (Fee Halberstadt) *hna.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA
