She survives after being hit by a bus and finds a family after 6 long months of recovery. This is the wonderful happy ending of Trudie, a four-year-old stray cat from England who survived against all odds.
Last March she suffered injuries defined by the vets themselves as “catastrophic” after being hit by a bus while running across the street. But despite the severe head trauma, the bloody cat got up from the asphalt and ran away. The operators of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals tracked her down after 16 days of research: she was still alive, but urgently needed intensive care.
She fought from day one as a warrior, earning herself the name of Trudie from Santa Gertrude, the patroness of cats. And, despite giving up, it is not known how many of her seven lives, she recovered completely: she lost an eye, underwent a series of operations on her jaw but “it’s a miracle that she survived those horrible injuries, especially because they long left unable to eat. She has proven to be a real fighter, ”RSPCA Southridge Deputy Director Mona Jorgensen wrote in a statement. “After her surgery, she was fed with a tube in the hospital. Then, once discharged, she was slowly weaned and we helped her to walk again ».
“We’ve spent so much time with Trudie… she’s won a special place in our hearts. But after everything she’s been through, we knew we had to find her the most wonderful home ” Mona added, finally announcing adoption . Trudie is today at the home of Dennis Hooper and Shirley Carter: «For now she loves spending time on the sunny veranda: she has her own kennel, but also two armchairs and a sofa to choose from where she can doze! She is always watching the birds and, once she is ready, we are sure she will enjoy exploring the large garden we have ».
